There are some words that have such a heavy weight in my mind… Prophecies, Exodus, Flamboyant, Incomprehensible…
Marketing, cheating and other deceptions
Is a great idea sold by its own? I guess in the ideal world it would, but not today, you need the help of this obscure cathalisator called Marketing… but why? is it the offer of new content thru the Internet? is it TV?
In this era fo information you can see who is getting your contect, and what is interesting for them, on the specific case of my marketing strategy for my website I know based on FB statistics that 37% of my viewers are Women on an age range between 25 and 34 (who represent only 12% of FB) and that if I want to maximize my range I should post exactly at 18:00 (Greenich time)… but what about the content, sure it makes a big difference if I post an almost nude woman in my site, and it may be the male followers with a 39% of my visitor reacting to this posts…
Something is sure, I have no marketing skills, since only my mother likes almost all of my post and my sister is author of 5 out of 7 comments in my website, great!!! who is answering to my tweeter, Rabadan, and there are a few freinds who admited being one of the 7 RSS readers of my website…
I guess I should start learning about marketing…
I was looking at my photos and I was wondering: where is the line between curiosity and voyeurism? Is it more thrilling to take a look at some skin that you know, or is it the look of naked people what drives people attention?
There is for sure a correlation between the amount of skin shown in my photos and the size of the audience. Why is it that people are more interested in watching a half naked woman than a well composed portrait? Are their minds trying to figure out what I went through to get the picture, or is it truly pure curiosity what’s behind?… I am in the turning point where I do not know if I should trust the good judgement of all of you. I see tons of photos a day, I try to learn from them, study what makes these images attractive. Are those pictures nudes? Most of them are. Do I look at them with lust? Well, yes, but it is more a professional envy than anything else. While I study those photos I wonder what I should do to have access to that collaboration, especially with people that will help me get on my next step as a photographer.
Another question arises: will I post nudes on my website? Perhaps, but only once I have enough of the correct followers… and this brings me to the original question: would you rather look at pictures of naked people you know than anonymous ones? I think so, but I want to believe that it is the natural curiosity of people, and not their primitive urge to see a naked body with a familiar face, but I have been wrong before.
A good start
